Lithograph Suite
"The Apollo Story", is a suite of five original cold stone lithographs drawn and hand printed at the Tamarind Institute, Albuquerque , New Mexico between the months of March and July, 1973 near the end of the Apollo project.
The edition consists of only 190 numbered impressions pulled from cold stone and printed on acid free Arches and Rives BFK paper. In addition, a few trial proofs, roman numbered impressions and artist's proofs exist and are recorded at Tamarind.
The lithographs were printed by Tamarind Master Printers Harry Westlund and Ben Q. Adams. Each lithograph is suitable for framing and the set is encased in a unique, hardbound portfolio.
The suite is in the collection of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. and the Johnson Space Center. This is a most elegant original lithograph suite for the discriminating collector.
With the 40 th Anniversary of the Apollo II moon landing in July, 2009 coming up, this historical suite makes a perfect corporate or personal gift. Less than 15 are available for public purchase.
